
INSTITUTE FOR CLIMATE CHANGE AND ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
Responding to the call for conservation and management of the natural environment, the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs of the Central Luzon State University proposed the creation of the Environmental Management Institute (EMI). The CLSU Board of Regents approved the establishment of the EMI on March 11, 1997.
However, the complex environmental problems are intensified and aggravated by climate change. To oversee the climate change impacts and adaptation measures locally, regionally and internationally, it was proposed that the Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management be integrated in the Institute. On September 21, 2011 at CHED Conference Room, HEDC Building, Quezon City under Board Resolution No. 44-2011, the proposal was approvedand it was named as Institute for Climate Change and Environmental Management (ICCEM).
CENTER FOR TROPICAL MUSHROOM RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Established in 1991 as the Mushroom Technology Laboratory of the department of Biological Sciences, the Center for Tropical Mushroom Research and Development metamorphosed into a university training and research center that caters to the technical needs of the academe and industry.
It is the mission of the Center to develop practical technologies through research and to empower community for nation building, global competitiveness and sustainable development. The Center envision itself as the core of technological advancement towards the development community-based mushroom industry. In order to attain this vision, it encourages people’s participation in the development of rural-based mushroom industry and provides suitable venue for a stronger linkage between the rural-based industry and the academe while utilizing locally available resources and practical technologies
